The UK delays Pornography Controls

The UK delays Pornography Controls
As we enter the second half of Holy Week I thought I would post a short article updating you on the expected password legislation set to commence in April. It isn’t happening…
It should come as no surprise that the UK has found ‘legitimate’ grounds to delay implementation of the requirements for a registration and password process on all pornography websites. Due to come into force on April 1st we have now been informed that serious concerns have been raised over the issue of data security. With recent abuses of personal data it is less than surprising that this decision has been taken.
As a pornography addict I can state without reservation that one of the easiest ways to stop me using a site is to ‘force’ me to register with them. One of the key aspects of this addiction is anonymity. The reason I never used pay sites is I did not want other people to be able to track my ‘interests’ or have any record of me using their services. Therefore, if our country is so adamant on protecting our young and vulnerable by restricting access, why are they worried? Treat it like smoking – have these companies put up a ‘warning’.
“Beware – your personal information may be subject to unintended disclosure…”
I understand that in our ‘upside down – non Christian’ society everyone is entitled to have the unrestricted right to indulge their personal preferences – where it is deemed legal. I understand that we are living in a democracy where the Commandments of God (in relation to the 6th & 9th) no longer apply, because they infringe our ‘civil liberties’. However, I do not understand how that same society can allow such freedoms to override a primary need for protection? Ignoring the growing evidence supporting the harm that pornography causes adults and young seems negligent.
This article is not intended to discuss the rights and wrongs of civil liberties. It is intended to show that our moral compass has been shifted to the point where our rights to view pornography ‘in security’ are more important than our child’s right to be unable to accidentally or intentionally view it…
It is worth noting that Russia has no such qualms in banning pornography. They recognise the harm it causes and have made certain that it is not accessible by ‘ordinary’ means. (This comment is not meant to represent in any way my personal views on Russia and its form of government.)
I wish you all my prayers during the remainder of Holy Week and ask you all to remember that most of the scourges Our Lord took for us related to abuses of the 6th and 9th Commandments…
Yours in Jesus, Mary & Joseph
SA James.

  1. So much truth here about the destructive effect of a permissive society on our men – young and old.

Men remain boys, encouraged by society (Catholic or not) to keep their sports channels and video games from their childhood, over adult interests. Pornography is now part of the education and just becomes one more addiction.
But none of these addictions are deemed ‘wrong’. As boys are left without directions to manhood, it becomes even harder for them to fight having had no training in the art of self-denial.

This website is needed and is spot on in its aims. Pornography has lost its taboo nature thanks to society and has become weed like, gripping an entire planet with it’s tendrils.
