Day 33/34/35 – Those Grey Areas

Just a few more hours and it will be time for a quick snooze before I drag my old body to midnight Mass.  This is what our faith is all about – the glory of the birth of our Saviour.  We must seize that opportunity for confession and recognise that all can be fresh and new again!  As Catholics we are truly blessed to be a part of God’s redemptive plan.  All we need do is say…Yes 🙂
With kids and decorations scattered around the house I promise this will be short and sweet.  Honest…
So why do we talk about grey areas and what do they mean to us?   In truth, these are the source of our real triggers and the ‘plausible deniability’ is the means to permit them.  This is the essence of why we so regularly allow ourselves to fail – it is the moment we stare over the cliff edge believing we have the control to not fall.  Stepping back is never as easy as it sounds – but you know that already.
“I’m just Googling something harmless—the kind of thing that if you saw me type it in to the search box you wouldn’t think much of it. But I’m inwardly aware that it might turn up some racy or explicit results, and I’m trying to pretend that’s not why I’m doing the search.”

My Conclusion:
The 3 days of challenges continue to highlight the benefits of using accountability partners.  Day 34 in particular provides a range of questions you should be asking yourself.  Day 35 is the best by far and really does sum up the main issue we all suffer as addicts.  Must Read!!

I continue to pray for you and your families this Christmas and hope the blessings of a ‘fresh start’ or of a ‘successful ongoing battle’ provide you the fruits of true happiness.  Don’t ever forget it is okay to love who you are and to believe that God loves you more than you could ever understand.
This Christmas promise to forgive yourselves and open yourself up to God’s true plan for your future…
Yours in Jesus, Mary & Joseph
SA James
