Day 26/27

Another new week to tempt us!
I would hope that most of us are so distracted by the ‘needs’ of Christmas that we have very little time to think about our sexual addictions.  If we are part of a family then this will be the week when lots of planning is taking place.  Who is cooking and who is decorating and how will this all fit with midnight mass…
If we are alone then I pray you have friends who are looking out for you.  If not, then be positive and base your celebrations around the church – as it probably should be for us all.  Many of us could use the ‘I’m all alone – it’s not fair’ permission giver as a reason to indulge ourselves in sin.  I know I certainly have in the past – very distant past…
DON’T DO IT
This time of the year is full of liturgical importance and it is highly likely that you will be able to use these to your benefit.  Today is when you should be carefully planning for the holiday period.  If with family and friends then ensure you remain ‘accountable’.  If alone, then make sure you have properly filled up your spare time.  Please do not allow depression over being alone to set in.  Have somebody you can call…
Ultimately, this time of the year is no different from any other.  It will be full of daily temptations that must be struggled against.  This struggle is always about your ability to say ‘NO’.  You are always responsible for that final choice so do not blame Christmas.
“To sin or not to sin…that is the question?”

My Conclusion:
The day 26 link appears to be broken but I recall the recording talked about unexpected and criminal consequences of surfing the internet for pornography.   Never assume that all of the click bait images take you to legal sites.  One of the tricks of these businesses is to lead you into viewing material that may ‘trap you’ into criminality.
Pornography impairs our decision making and makes it easier for us to make immoral choices for the bigger dopamine hits – another reason to stop now!
Day 27 is a short reminder about the importance of picking a suitable accountability partner.  It is definitely worth a read.

Please use this period as a time to practice your virtues.  Be an example to those around you and be proud that you are striving to demonstrate your love of God and his Commandments.
And if it all goes wrong or you are feeling down – contact me ASAP.  Do not let shame or despair destroy your love of Christmas…
Yours in Jesus, Mary & Joseph
SA James
