Day 14 – Hidden Corners?

It s now 2 weeks since some of you last watched pornography or indulged in your addiction.  For others, the days free of sin may be less – not to worry.  What you will all recognise is that the struggle got a lot harder once you truly started to resist.  So why does God make it harder if you are trying to cooperate with Him?  Certainly for me, my conversion heralded all sorts of pain and despair.  I have often thought it was much better when I did not know God…and did not have to change my ways.
The risk is that we defer to blaming God when it gets tough and we stop coping.  We wonder (I did) how come our cooperation is causing us twice as much suffering?  God doesn’t make it tougher.  All that is happening is we are starting to recognise who we really are in respect of God’s perspective of us.  That is definitely something to be scared of…and I think that is why it all gets so much harder.
All of our hidden corners are exposed and we must face them in the light of God’s truths.

My Conclusion:
I think it really helps us to understand when we keep getting different viewpoints from recovering addicts.  Day 14 is another such example and as important to digest as any other lesson.  Keep on reading and learning and believing in yourself.

Can I send out a special plea for prayer donations – there are a number of difficult struggles taking place within the Fellowship right now.  Your prayers help.
