Who are Men of Hope And why should I care?

IF YOU STILL HAVEN'T WATCHED THIS THEN DO SO NOW...

Just a few MORE points to consider?
  • The more you watch…the more you NEED.
  • Once you have fallen to your temptation despair often leads you to sin again…and again…
  • Your self loathing and revulsion is made worse when you recognise that you are going to sin again regardless of your tearful Act of Contrition.
  • The withdrawal symptoms make you feel edgy, moody, angry and you generally can’t sleep till you feed your ‘fix’.
  • You struggle to concentrate on your family and work  due to powerful (umwanted) distracting sexual thoughts and desires.

  • Only you can be responsible for completing the units.
  • Only you can chose to use your will as God would wish.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

WHAT YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND FIRST:
  1. Wanting to stop is NOT enough.  (But you know that already…)
  2. Nobody can help until you are ready to let them.
  3. You cannot tell your wife and expect her to help you. (She must never feel responsible for your condition/failures).
  4. ‘Shame and pride’ when dealing with addiction will cause you to fail. So be open and honest in the chatroom. Find your true humility.
  5. You are powerless over lust / pornography / your particular sexual addiction.  Don’t fool yourself that you are ‘not as bad’ as other people in the Fellowship.  We are all slaves to addiction and hurt others!
  6. That you will lie to yourself and others to feel better or justify your failings.
  7. This is not an instant win.  It is a your cross and you will drop it often so do not despair.
  8. You must complete each Self-Help Unit and discuss it honestly during Chatroom with your mentor.
  9. Fellowship is crucial to overcoming this addiction. You must overcome pride and be able to tell others in this group that you have ‘fallen’ again.  Many addiction groups are full of success – or are they??
  10. If you think you have overcome your addiction then become a mentor and make this your Apostolate with prayer donations and chatroom support.  Your cross is a path to sanctity…

THE SOLUTION HURTS – BUT SO DOES SEPARATING OURSELVES WILLINGLY FROM GOD!

If you’ve managed to get this far then make the final commitment and complete Unit 1.0 – A Fresh Start.  If you find this helps then feel free to look over the remaining Stage 1 units.

The first thing you need to practice is self-discipline and  I have found that completing a daily diary is a crucial ‘first step’…so download and get started!
