This is not just for Lent

This is not just for Lent – It is for Life…I presume?
Dear Member,
This unit has been written with a key thought in mind – Firm Resolution.  Every year, millions of people around the world resolve to give up a bad habit at New Year; and every year the majority fail in this enterprise.  For many, this resolution is important.  It may be to stop smoking, drinking or something else just as harmful.  Yet they willingly give up when the euphoria to stop gives way to the craving of ‘need’…
With Catholics, the most appropriate time for such resolutions is Lent.  Six weeks of ‘purgatory’ as we offer up our cravings to show God our recognition of what he did by sending Jesus to die for our sins on the cross.  For an addict, that is a very long time to go without.
This lesson should follow A Fresh Start as it is intended to deal with the issue we face in relation to well meant resolutions.  As this series develops I may gain inspiration for units that appear ‘out of sequence’.  I apologise if this causes any confusion but ask you to remain patient – this self-help program remains an ongoing project.
Please leave any advice or recommendations in the comments section below.  Feedback is definitely appreciated.
Yours in Jesus, Mary & Joseph
Sa James
